(19/1/10) George Harrower lives in South Africa, within 20km of Durban, and has a self-catering cottage which sleeps six.
(19/6/09) I've only just been able to get stuff back onto the web site, after a long period with unexplained technical issues.
(24/3/09) Folks, I have had NO contributions for the newsletter for nearly a year, despite being reduced to sending out begging emails. I need help. If there's to be another newsletter I desperately need something to put in it.
(18/9/08) Folks, I need your help. There wasn't a newsletter at the end of June, as I simply didn't have enough material to publish one. It's now nearly the end of September, and I'm no nearer completing a newsletter. Surely some of you must have something which would be of interest to the membership. I'm getting desperate here.
(10/6/08) ST Aviation are looking into the possibility of firewall backward kits for Shadows allowing fitting of Jabiru engines, which I'm told are lighter than Rotax 912s.
(24/4/08) A mandatory inspection of the front hanger tube brackets (F153) has been instigated following failures on two aircraft, one in Argentina.
A mandatory modification has been instigated for fitting a strengthening piece of plywood between the two front hanger tube brackets (unless it's already fitted).
The newsletter is late again (sorry). I hope to publish it next week, together with membership cards for everyone who has renewed since the start of the year.
(23/8/05) Regarding the recently announced requirement to replace aluminium blade blocks on Precision Props, Ronnie Bell has made contact with the new owner of Precision. Precision can supply replacement blocks for $65. They can only be contacted by email, on opensky@earthlink.net
(12/5/05) Danny has sold 150 undercarriages. I have no figures for David's sales yet.
Danny has designed a new lift for the Shadow, so that he can work on it without having to kneel on the floor. Approval is being sought for new support pieces where the tailplane tubes go through the boom. After a long gap working on our aircraft Danny has started working on his own again.
(24/3/05) David's aluminium undercarriage has finally received approval from the PFA. BMAA approval has been sought.
The mandatory mod. for the elevator flutter problem is simple and inexpensive. See the Shadow Flight Centre web site and follow the link to news.
